Lighting is taken care of with an intelligent system, presets for different times of day so the staff can get on with what they do best. But the lighting is not all in store for your eyes – the main bar is dominated by an HD super wide projector screen, fed by a Penguin Media Server, again with presets so staff don’t have to worry about the video running out and leaving revellers with a blank screen! The server is networked so in the unlikely event there is a fault or last minute video files need to be added, this can be done from a remote location either by us at Penguin or by the manager, either wirelessly in the venue from a laptop or from the comfort of their home 50 miles away.
Up the stairs and we lead you into the restaurant, an open servery leaves you with the sights and aromas of the kitchen, and behind you the ambiance set by another bespoke Penguin Media creation – a 9 metre long light wall. This contains specially printed artwork that can be changed to suit current promotions, sponsors, themes, the only limit is your imagination! DMX controlled, this will work in harmony with the other lighting in the venue – midweek intimate dining, a soft decadent red glow accents the room – Saturday night with the DJ playing and the tables away, it’s a colour changing, strobing effects light without needing the traditional ‘club lights’ hanging from the ceiling.
We head up once more, destination: Asahi Lounge, but on the way up the back staircase you are greeted by yet another Penguin Media creation; a life size 3D holographic Geisha Girl, bowing to greet you to the private lounge! The hardware and software created completely by our in house team.
Once there, a short corridor leaves you another choice – continue to the Lounge, or instead turn to your left, in what was Brighton’s first private karaoke suite. With 3 large flat screens, as well as fully user driven touchscreen system, you pick the tracks you want to sing with your friends, no staff required to operate! Another bespoke Penguin Media concept turned reality. With see in the dark infra red cameras, should the staff wish, the antics of the karaoke booth can be shown to other partygoers on any combination of the other screens in the venue – Big Brother is watching!
The Asahi Lounge is home to yet another Brighton first; a Sound Ceiling. Due to restrictions placed by the local council because of nearby residential buildings, and the Asahi Lounge’s double doors leading to the outdoor terrace; using this space with any normal audio equipment would be impossible at anything above background level. The Sound Ceiling is revolutionary in its design, giving high enough volume levels for people to dance when under it, but step just outside and normal level speech is perfectly audible, and the neighbours are kept happy! The technology would take the rest of this page to explain, so for a more in depth explanation, please call us!
That outdoor terrace, a newer addition to the venue, provides off street smoking possibilities, alfresco drinking and dining and a place to watch the custom visuals from the outdoor projection screen, with background music being played so you’re not away from the fun! One more room to go, the VIP Glass Room, with its own JBL audio and another flat screen, perfect for smaller parties – with an XBox360 installed you can hire Rock Band, Singstar, or bring your own!
