Description
The QSC CIAES‑16 is a high‑capacity AES/EBU (AES3) 16‑channel digital input card designed for seamless integration into the Q‑SYS ecosystem. It connects via standard RJ‑45 connectors and supports up to 24‑bit resolution audio input from external AES/EBU sources, making it ideal for professional installations requiring large numbers of digital input channels.
As a Type 2 hardware I/O card, CIAES‑16 is compatible with newer generations of Q-SYS Cores and I/O Frames, although it is not physically interchangeable with older I/O cards. It offers a cost-effective digital audio expansion option, allowing integrators to bring multiple AES/EBU streams into the Q‑SYS processing domain.
The card includes dual RJ‑45 ports for redundant or daisy‑chained connections, providing flexibility in routing and system topology. It supports source-level settings up to +27 dBu and includes digital mute capabilities for full signal control. With input conversion latency of about 2.96 ms at 48 kHz, CIAES‑16 ensures reliable, low-latency performance across standard sampling rates.
